Schools, colleges to reopen from Sept 13 with GJM riders

The GJM Thursday said it would allow reopening of schools and colleges in the Darjeeling hills, which have remained closed for more than a month, from September 13. GJM president Bimal Gurung announced this after a meeting with the heads of schools and colleges here. He , however, said , in a Fecebook post, "The on-going agitation will continue as it is our final battle."

The Conditions

No transport will be made available to the students

Schools will have to ensure boarding facilities for students who can't walk to school

All students, teachers must undertake a signature campaign for Gorkhaland and send a copy each to the President, Prime Minister

Schools must hold classes on Saturdays and Sundays to make up for time lost
