Screen Presence

It would be no less a coup to find Marilyn Monroe in one bedroom and Guru Dutt in another. At the newly opened Cinema Suite in 51 Buckingham Gate, Taj Suites and Residences in London, which also boasts of the world's first Jaguar Suite, guests will also find references to master directors such as Francis Ford Coppola and Ingmar Bergman in the imposing study to world cinema filmmakers like Majidi and Wong Kar-Wai in the living room alongside posters of The Stepford Wives in the kitchen. Styled by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, the two-bedroom suite offers a unique journey through world cinema and is a celebration of personalised detail and global culture. Rare Bollywood film prints, history books, vintage mirrors and a myriad of portraits and drawings dot the interiors. The Cinema Suite also features cutting-edge technology like an 85-inch plasma cinema screen with a 3D home theatre system that has been preloaded with a repertoire of 300 international motion pictures, books and music, chosen by Mukherjee. Rates at the Cinema Suite start at £5,100 per night.
