Sex tapes of tourist couples on porn sites, two held

The Noida Cyber Crime Cell have arrested two persons, residents of Jalandhar, for allegedly filming couples in hotels and uploading the videos on 36 pornographic sites. One of the men is a banker in Jalandhar and the other is a B Com student. They were produced in court on Monday and have been sent to police custody for six days.

Police said the two operated the websites. Others who filmed the couples in hotels across the country are still to be apprehended.

The arrests were made after a Noida couple filed a complaint. "The couple said they had gone to Rajasthan and UP where they stayed in hotels. When they returned, they discovered that their sex tape had been uploaded on several websites. Prima facie, it seems that some persons in the management of these hotels filmed the couple and several others," Deputy Superintendent of Police Triveni Singh said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Praveen Kumar said: "It is a well planned operation, which used servers based in India and the United States. They earned their revenue through advertisements on the websites. The group also has a strong network in Brazil, Singapore, Goa, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. They employed people to film couples in tourist destinations."
