Sholay 3D all set to release today

Sholay3d One of Indian cinema's most popular cult classic films 'Sholay' is all set for its 3D release 38 years after its original release.

One of Indian cinema's most popular cult classic films 'Sholay' is all set for its 3D release on January 3, 38 years after its original release.

While some of the original cast and crew seem to have no objection with this, the film's director Ramesh Sippy had made his anti-release stand very clear. The Bombay High Court too rejected his plea seeking a stay on the release of Sholay's 3D version made by his nephew Sasha over a copyright dispute.

However the film's writers Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan have been promoting the film in full swing.

On the eve of the re-release of the film, #Sholay3D was trending on Twitter with reactions of fans and their opinion on releasing the classic film in 3D. While some were nostalgic some agree with Ramesh Sippy.

‏@MilanMishra said: Waiting for #Sholay3D My Favourite Dialoge, where Dharm Paji walks out of the Jail & asks for Beedi to Halwadaar संतरी जी एक बीडी पिलाईये।

‏@Rubina_BigB_EF: Wen Indian Cinema got its most iconic & memorable movie in 1975, I wasn't born! Won't let go of THIS chance to experience MAGIC!:) #Sholay3D

@tapanmehtta: Somehow not excited to watch #Sholay3D. Seen Sholay enough to get me excited anymore even in 3D.

Some fans also gave the matter a humourous turn. @ajith27 says: Hope RGV isn't planning a RGV ki 3D Aag #Sholay3D

@imsujitagrawal: #Sholay3D will be released on 3rd Jan... But for Sambha even the original one was a 3D experience, sitting a top the hill and having fun..
