Artistic Awareness
As part of their 'Violence is not okay campaign, Open Space organised a solo theatre performance by Chennai based artiste, Pritham Chakravarthy. The evening witnessed two plays that brought to the fore the various kinds of violence against women. The Last Matriach (Dushala) and Touch Me Not were two plays that touched upon the verbal, non-verbal, mental and physical violence that women are forced to endure.

Pritham singularly engaged the audience was commendable intensity. Her vivid narrations and expressions held the audience mesmerised.. All in all, a good series of efforts put in by Open Space to reach out to people and enlighten them up about the above social issue.

Play On
Blending different shades of life to bring it alive on stage, Swatantra theatre will be staging two plays as a treat for the drama lovers. Zindagi ke Rang, a kaleidoscope of seven short stories featuring an elaborate cast will be staged on December 21. Interestingly the play depicts the complex facets of the writer in the play .The writer's conflict at penning down his experiences as short stories, itself is an organic story in the play. The other play Andha Yug, an epical story based on Mahabharta will bring forth the diplomacy of the present world. It will be staged on December 20. The plays will be staged at Babasaheb Ambedkar Sanskriti Bhavan and Sudarshan Rangmanch.
