Special police-public meets held to clear backlog of complaints

The police-public meeting of Ludhiana North area was organised on Monday with a motive to welcome the new year after clearing the entire backlog of 2013. The police stations of division number 1, 3, salem tabri and kotwali police station had called complainants of all the pending complaints at Kotwali police station and they succeeded in disposing off 165 complaints. Nilambari Jagdale, ADCP-1, said, "Though we tried to clear the entire backlog, we were able to clear 80% of our load. And now we can welcome the new year with fewer pending files of 2013."

"We will try to zero down all the complaints of 2013 after arranging another meeting in the first week of January," she added.

The complaints which were settled on Monday were mostly related to matrimonial disputes, petty theft cases, fight among neighbourers etc. In a few cases, FIRs were also registered, while rest of the cases were solved amicably, she informed.

A similar police-public meeting was organised at Sunder Nagar area on Sunday.
