The Doors, Limp Bizkit in Delhi

It was in the summer of 1965 that a young Jim Morrison crooned the classic Moonlight Drive in Los Angeles. Soon, along with keyboardist Ray Manzarek, drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger, he created a music band, The Doors. The rest is legendary. In February, fans of the iconic band will be able to sway to its psychedalic tunes as Manzarek-Krieger perform in Delhi as part of the first Fly Music Festival.

And The Doors isn't the only treat awaiting music buffs. Grammy-nominated American rock band Limp Bizkit, American heavy metal heads Anthrax, Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall, Jamaican reggae masters, The Wailers, of Bob Marley fame and London-based dub band, Dub Pistol are some of the few names that will be headlining the music festival.

"All festivals bring in one international act and keep repeating the Indian acts. We're focusing on a line-up of a large number of international artistes," says Shailendra Singh, Joint Managing Director, Percept, which is organising the festival. The two-day-long fiesta will take place on February 16 and 17 at Unitech Golf & Country Club in Noida.

Limp Bizkit is as well known for tracks such as Faith, Counterfeit and Take a look around as for vocalist Fred Durst's antics on stage. On the other hand, Tunstall always delivers high-energy, peppy gigs with hits such as Suddenly I see and Black Horse & the cherrytree. If you need more reason to celebrate, here it is — according to the grapevine, rock band Deep Purple, is also planning shows in India.

Tickets will be available on www.bookmyshow.com from Jan 10.
