Three incidents of theft reported in city

The UT Police, on Thursday, registered a case on the complaint of a Punjab and Haryana High Court lawyer, Shalini Attri, who reported of a theft at her residence on Thursday.

A police official said, "Shalini Attri left her home at 9.45 am, but when she returned in the afternoon she found that her house had been robbed."

Police officials said that the that the latch of one of the rooms of the advocate's house was broken and cash worth one lakh along with four gold bangles, a gold watch, a gold button, three gold sets and a gold ginni were missing.

Another incident of theft was reported in Sector 12, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research's (PGIMERs) market. Narinder Pal of shop number 2, Well Being Chemist alleged that his employees Rishab, Puran Singh, Kamlesh and Ajit Kumar stole away surgical medicines worth Rs 1 lakh from his shop.

In a third incident, Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Sector 43 reported that someone had stolen diamond ear rings, silver coins, silver glass and a camera from her residence by breaking the lock of the main door on Thursday while she was away.

The police have registered a case and is investigating the incident further.
