Tiwari remarks on Bhagwat his own: JD(U)

NDA convenor and JD(U) president Sharad Yadav on Tuesday distanced himself and his party from the remarks of party's Rajya Sabha member Shivanand Tiwari about RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and said the alliance with the BJP will continue.

Tiwari had said: "There is no difference between them (Bhagwat and MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi)....both are two sides of the same coin...both create hatred in society in order to boost their vote banks." Yadav on Tuesday said: "I would like to make it clear that the views expressed by Tiwari were his own and without any sanction from the party. I consider reasonable what Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP general secretary and chief spokesperson) has said."

Prasad on Monday had described Tiwari's comment as "undignified, uncharitable and very condemnable" and appealed to the JD(U) chief to "restrain" his party MP. The JD(U) chief maintained that "we need to ensure that feelings of those who work with us are not hurt.... Such things should not happen.... We have an old coalition with BJP which will continue in future as well".
