Prinkle Singh, Ishan Anirudh Sethi win both singles and doubles titles in u-12 boys and girls' sections.
With cold wind blowing against her, Prinkle Singh checked her position and was ready for the challenge once again. It was the eighth game of the second set and she needed another point to level the match. With a thunderous forehand, Prinkle, the top seed in the girl's u-12 category, set the match rolling and took the match into the third set after winning the second 6-3.
In the first set, despite looking in good touch, Prinkle had to suffer a 4-6 loss at the hands of Sarah Dev, who was the second seed. By that time, the momentum has already swung in Prinkle's favour as she continued to play some excellent shots all over the court and won the third set, 6-2, to claim the girl's u-12 title in the CLTA-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament held at the CLTA Stadium in Sector 10 on Friday.
Howwever, there was still more to come from her. Prinkle once again returned to the court, this time with Sarah as her company. The second seeded doubles pair were so dominant in the girl's u-12 doubles final, that Aarushi Kakkar and Seerat Sidhu, who were the top seeded, looked like novices in front of them. Without dropping a single game, the pair won the first set 4-0. They continued their fine form in the second set also and just dropped a game to win the set 4-1, to claim the title. This was Prinkle's second title of the day.
Prinkle was not the only player who enjoyed twin success on Friday. Ishan Anirudh Sethi also walked away with two titles- the boy's u-12 singles and doubles title.
In the u-12 singles final, Ishan, seeded fourth, defeated top seed Yuvraj Singh Kooka, 6-2, 6-1, to claim his first title of the day. He then paired with Chiraz Dandona and the third seed pair upset top seed pair of Yuvraj Singh and Akshit Chabra, 4-2, 4-5(4), 7-4, in an exciting doubles encounter.
