Warp of Art

Weaver Monika Correa, whose works have always reflected connections between weaving and patterns and textures of nature, has emerged with a new set of works, called "Meandering Warp: Variations on a Theme". Playing with reeds and warp threads that give her fabrics a sense of three-dimensional optical illusions, Correa's meticulously structured set of works are on display at the Chemould Prescott Road. For Correa, who has honed her skills at the Weaver's Service Centre, Mumbai, this will be her first public show after a long period of private commissions.

The exhibition previewed yesterday and will be on view till Feb 23
