Why don't we produce Nobel laureates: President

Stating that India has always had a track record of being blessed with world class institutions, President of India Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday questioned the inability of the country in producing Nobel laureates, despite having many reputed institutions for higher education. "We have had a glorious past of being blessed with a world class university like Nalanada. But presently, something has gone wrong that we are unable to produce Nobel laureates... What is the reason behind the intellectual capital of the country heading westwards? We need to figure out a way to retain this talent," the President said via video conferencing in a New Year message to students and teachers at Jamia Millia Islamia.
