Opera Web Pass
Bharti Airtel and Opera Software announced the launch of Opera Web Pass for customers in India on Tuesday. Opera Web Pass allows users access to pay-as-you-go services on their phones. For this, Airtel subscribers need to download and install Opera Mini, one of the most popular mobile phone browsers. On the browser, the start page has a link to Opera Web Pass, which will show users the plans available. Users can purchase Internet access packs using the service. Available packs include 24-hour data usage or browsing over the weekend. Users without data plans can now easily purchase Internet packs, using this service. "For millions of users, their mobile phones have the potential to become the first device through which they will experience the web. We want to simplify the steps leading to web browsing for these first-time users. Opera Web Pass allows us to give users access to the mobile internet when and where they want it," N Rajaram, Chief Marketing Officer for Consumer Business, Bharti Airtel said.
