Young authors, audience celebrated at Panchkula Literature Festival

With young authors on the stage and a younger audience on the other end, the Panchkula Lit Fest (PLF) celebrated budding authors and blooming readers on Sunday. Held at the Satluj Public School, the one-day fest themed around 'Get booked', was the first literature fest to be held in Panchkula.

"There are many firsts attached to this fest. This is the first fest where published as well non-published authors addressed young readers and writing enthusiasts. Also, it brought many debut authors from the region on stage with well-known names from across the country," said Radhika Panickar, director of the fest.

Inaugurated by Padma Bhushan awardee, poet and philosopher Sardar Anjum, the fest included a session on story writing by best selling authors like Faraaz Kazi and Sudeep Nagarkar and also sessions by debut writers. Upcoming authors Hardik Dhamija and Nikhil Mukhija shared their experiences and why they chose to write.

"This fest gave a platform to budding writers of the region to interact with better known names. Fresh perspectives on writing blended at one point," said Reekrit Serai, who launched his book 'Impulse (Short Stories)' at the fest.

Rahul Gore, Sachin Garg, Parul Dhara were among the other young, but established names who shared their experiences. 'Paperback Dreams', Rahul Saini's fourth book, was also launched at the fest.
