However, overcoming intermittent hiccups, the BJP, under the leadership of Raman Singh, managed to bag 46 seats against Congress, which won a respectable 41 seats. BJP was heading for an impressive win in Rajasthan where it was leading in 133 out of 199 seats while ruling Congress was ahead in 36 seats. With trends indicating a clean sweep for the BJP, celebrations broke out in the party office with workers congratulating each other. (PTI)

BJP's Rajasthan party president Vasundhara Raje today said her party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was a "huge factor" behind its good show. "The people of Rajasthan were tired of non-governance of Congress. It is something that follows from Delhi also. Therefore, Narendra Modi is a very big factor because people have seen what he has done in Gujarat," Raje said after her party was leading in more than 130 seats. (PTI)
