Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee spoke to mediapersons at SSKM Hospital after making a surprise entry and she offered to "provide all possible help" to slain SFI member Sudipto Gupta's family. Her words angered an inconsolable Pranab Kumar Gupta, the 63-year-old father of Sudipto, who rejected the offer and said he would fight till he gets justice. "You (Mamata Banerjee) should not tempt me with money. I'm not a beggar. I won't accept anything against my son's life," he said, adding, “It is against my principles. Sudipto's post mortem report said that there were five injury marks on his body — two being major ones found close to his heart and brain. Autopsy's findings are contrary to what cops claim. Police have been repeatedly denying allegations that Sudipto was brutally beaten up by policemen that led to the SFI student leader's death. Instead, they have called his death an accident after "his head got hit against a street lamp post". (PTI)
